It’s time to pull your weeds from your garden before planting seeds of positivity.
I once read in a mindfulness book an analogy about gardens and our minds. Our minds are like a garden. What we plant inside them grows. For example, if you plant a negative thought and let it grow and fester it will act metaphorically as a giant weed cluttering your garden mind. But what we do as humans is ignore those weeds and try to plant positive seeds on top of them to grow beautiful flowers. But the problem with this is one day those positive flowers will grow with the weeds and the garden will be overgrown and sometimes we’ll mistake weeds for flowers or flowers for weeds. The concept is with our thoughts. Instead of trying to produce positive thoughts to outdo the negative thoughts, instead try to let the negative thoughts go. Pull the weeds from your garden to leave room for healthy positive seeds to grow flowers. You’ll find in life it’s not always about incorporating more and more it’s about letting go of what doesn’t serve you.
